I've put San Cristobal as the location for this entry, but to be honest, I've only really been using it as a base for various trips out into smaller communities all around Chiapas.

The longer I stay here, the more I find out about interesting things to do, and so the longer I stay, and so on. I'm finding it hard to leave, not that I'm trying very hard, mind you.

I've got involved in various different things since I got here. I have done some human rights observation work in one of the Zapatista communities. I have taken part in an agro-ecology project involving Neem trees run by one of the solidarity groups. I have been doing courses on agriculture and carpentry at a 'university' set up by and for the indigenous people. I have been going to seminars on Zapatism, 'La Otra Campaña' and globalization. I have been doing translations for money. Now I am working together with an international solidarity group on an education project for use in Zapatista autonomous schools.

I'm not going to go into any detail about this stuff here, but if you're reading this and you're interested, then get in touch with me.

I've met so many interesting and beautiful people here, not only from Mexico, but also Brazil, Norway, the Basque Country , the United States, Argentina, Catalonia, El Salvador, France, Italy, and Spain, amongst others. There's a good international vibe here, and I'm happy to be out of the backpacker scene, even though this town is infested with them.

I've got to say I'm getting a little sick of all the frikking reggae music. I like it, but enough is enough.

I 'plan' to be here for another month or so then get down to Honduras for a bit of diving and onwards. My plans have been changing constantly since I left home so please don't hold me to that.
