My buddy Bruce flew into Cabo San Lucas on the 10th December after a couple of weeks in the Yucatan. I went down to meet him at Todos Santos, which IŽd read was an artistsŽ retreat with Bohemian charm.
IŽd also heard it was an "authentic Mexican town". This was pretty funny: does "authentic Mexican town" mean anywhere where there are more Mexicans than gringos? If so, then Todos Santos was an "authentic Mexican town," but only just. It was expensive, pretentious and just another gringo hangout as far as I could see.
So I got a motel room, bought some overpriced sunblock, met Bruce and got on the bus to Pescadero, just ten kilometres down the road.
