My plan was to bus down here then hitchhike from the junction on the main road to Bahia De Los Angeles the same day. The bus left El Rosario late and so I didn't get to the turnoff till after dark. NOBODY stopped to pick up scary ol' me.
I was starting to get flashbacks of my "bivvying down in a snowdrift in New Zealand"-experience, which was also the direct result of a badly-planned hitchhike. This experience didn't end up with me being picked up by the cops, though. I camped down in the middle of the desert with my newly acquired pup-tent, generously donated by Ron. The stars were so clear....
I slept well and when I woke up there was an eerie fog covering the desert and a lot of dew. My tent was soaked. Through the fog I could make out these enormous cactuses (cacti?), each as big as a house. Farout! This is deepest darkest, Baja. We're in Mexico de verdad now, baby!
This morning I got a ride the last 50 miles into town here at Bahia de los Angeles.
