Flag of United States  , Arizona,
Wednesday, October 10, 2007

I'm back in Flagstaff, AZ. I got here yesterday morning. It's a funky student town, with lots of people proudly flying the freak flag.

Apart from drinking coffee and looking intellectual there's not a lot to do if you haven't got a car.

So the highlights of my two days here have been:

- buying new insoles and laces for my boots.
- eating the world's largest burrito and getting most of the salsa down my front.
- gatecrashing a lecture at Northern Arizona University on the development of the Catholic Church 500AD-1500AD.
- seeing a local heavy metal gig and being amazed at how many tattoos there are in Arizona.

Tonight at 9pm I'm taking the train to San Diego. I get there tomorrow morning then I'll probably go straight over the border to Tijuana.

Watch this space.

Over and out.

small world
Thank YOU for the birthday wishes..incidentally everybody I meet (U.K., Iceland, or USA) is making me drink...and the 'worst' to come is a huge grad student houseparty tomorrow in Bloomington, IN. ey...I make up for all this studious time in Guernsey! After crashing in an Icelandic food science chemistry class (in Icelandic!) in Reykjavik, last week, I sat today in a 2-hour Media History critical reading class talking about Hollywood Film Industry 1915-1950... a lot of interesting questioning..The funny thing I wanted to tell you was that I met many people in the 49 Lake Shore limited (Amtrak NYC-CHI)yesterday who were leaving Chicago at 3.30pm for San Diego..what a small world, I imagine only that you were in that same train... hehehe. Hope you enjoy your trip in 'The Big Smoke'...I'm bowling and local brew tonight! And for all I know, maybe Audrey went to the Philippines?! A+
