Where I stayed
Minnie Peterson DNR
So the day started out great! I spoiled myself by having breakfast at Kalaloch Lodge with a window view of the Pacific Ocean. This is only the third time I have eaten in a restaurant this trip
! I took some pics of the view. Then it was off to Ruby Beach. Another stunning landscape with rocks, cliffs etc. The beach was rocky and not much sand but the views made up for it. After laying out a bit there I decided to checkout the next beach down the road and see if it was less rocky. I found Beach 4(thats its name lol) had plenty of this grayish sand soft and everywhere. Getting down to this beach was when the knee finally gave out but going down to Ruby Beach I think started it. I took plenty of pics here too and it even had an American Bald Eagle roosting in a tree on one of the island cliffs! After a few hours of sun I headed back to camp where I took my every three or four day shower lmao! It felt great! I wanted to do a couple more rainforest hikes but thats a NO GO now. So my plan is to take it easy and stay off the knee for a few days by justing laying out at the beach. This weekend coming up I am going to visit my friend Penny Hanes I told you about before. I lived beside them when I was a kid. I'll be there Saturday and a Sunday Bar-b-cue with the "Smith Boys" and their families. I hope everyone is enjoying this updates and pics. I would like some feedback if you are. A simple short message either on here or Facebook to tell me who is looking...THANKS!
Peace out my friends,
Probably shouldnt have done that 10 miles yesterday lol! I knew something was wrong this morning when I got up and the knee was hurting. I had something like this happen to me once before when I hurt my left knee and ended up getting surgery done on it. This right knee feels a little bit worse then that one. Either way I have painkillers(for my bum shoulder)and the knee will be managable until I get back to Ohio and have an MRI done it. I know what they will say either live with the pain or get it operated on. I thought it was ok until I changed from Ruby Beach(to rocky) to Beach 4 with nice sand. Going down the steep trail to the beach it pretty much went numb. Then the pain set in. Oh well...thank GOD for tramadol!
