This past weekend I visited another volunteer to see how they lived. It was in Quiindy. It was a beautiful town. The volunteer I went to visit was very guapa (hard working) so I got to see a lot of the town. The first day she and a family near her house made a large meal with guacamole and white rice.
The next day we went to a little creek to go swimming. It was a little bit of a hike, but it was well worth it when we got to the water. It was extremely refreshing. We walked back through the countryside. We saw fields of mandioca, coconut, and sugar cane. It was so green over there.
On Monday, we made peanut butter! We took the peanuts out of the shell, roasted them, took the skin off and then crushed the peanuts. Then we added honey (yum) and mixed it around. It is different then something you would find in the states, but it was delicious. I was able to bring some home with me. We also went into the school and classroom on Monday. It was interesting to see how the first day of class went in Paraguay. Most of the kids were around 16 or 17 yrs old.
Today we got a tour of the town and then had lunch at a families house. Last night was really relaxing...we got to watch a few  episodes of  LOST.  I got on a bus shortly after lunch and I am back in Guarambare.

Way to go, Sam!
Hey, Sam! Thanks so much for sending me this blog...so much fun to hear from you. You are sooooo awesome and it is great to hear about all of your adventures. I think that Hannah and Jason were really close to Ascension when they went to Argentina. They also attended a cince and never had seen so much food!! Everything here is the same except for the 15 inches of snow and more tonight. The hockey team is one game from state and that's cool. I'll keep you posted on Liquor Store news!!
Peace, Marge

I am so glad to hear that you are having a great time, I knew you would. I am so jealous of you swimming and seeing the beautiful green country side. All it does is snow here.
I have nothing new and exciting to share, all I do is work. Keep posting your messages, I like to read them. Love T-bags

Do You Know Lisa?
Hi Sam,

I saw your Travelpod when reading about my own daughter in Paraguay. Do you know Lisa? It sounds like you two got there about the same time. I look forward to reading more in your travel blog. Keep the news coming!
