Arrived at Surfers Paridise situated along the Gold Coast of Australia and weirdly got here the same time as we had left Byron Bay due to the clocks going back an hour. Quite a big city really with some huge sky scrapers but right next to the beach (which is needless to say; golden sandy, lined with palm trees and lapped up by beautiful blue waves) Lots of shops and one day there was an aboriginal dude sat on the highstreet in his traditional attire of body paint and red pants playing the didgeridoo. He was brilliant and very funny making animal noises and music.

A really pretty little night market lined the promenade in the evening with twinkling lights in the palm trees and lovely quaint stalls with nice gifty things. And an awesome sand sculpture on the beach, very impressive.

Our hostel was good too- 'Cheers Backpackers' complete with a pool and a hot tub (which is actually cold... but its too hot for a hot tub anyway so the bubbles were nice!) We met up with some others in the bar and all headed out to 'Shooters' for some free drinks and a dance off!!
