I woke up this morning with what I thought was a bang on the door, thinking that I have overslept and either Sheila or Rick, are desperately trying to get me up. I jumped onto my feet so fast that I felt blood rushing into my head and felt so dizzy that I just had to go back to bed, momentarily! I finally got up, rushed to the door and said good morning, I am up and will be ready in a jiffy. Sheila looked at me concerned as though what on earth had caused me to get up looking so distressed...needless to say that I am a beast first thing in the morning. I asked if they had woken me up, and the answer was a no and Sheila quickly disappeared looking for a paper, tissue, soap, something on those lines!
I went back to the room, managed to give myself a shock as I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, I quickly rushed to the bathroom for a shower, with the hope that the cold water would wake up my nerve cells and do something with my face
I finally got myself in to the living room, where I found Richard fighting a battle on the phone with someone and Sheila was still missing after she had disappeared before my shower. I found her in my room looking for that something. It turned out to be a CD of her presentation she was suppose to give this morning on her last trip to China. While she was looking for the CD, I found out that Richard was having a conversation with a death sentence with a customer service guy on the phone. Apparently the projector stopped working. It was only last night that we were discussing the joys of technology and how it has made our life easier. I am not sure if Richard was feeling the same right now. All I can say is that I am glad for the other guy that he was on the other end of the line, far far away!
Richard managed to fix the problem and as he did, Sheila managed to find her CD and everything seemed to be forming in place. We discussed the issues related to technology and it was concluded that a hammer can go a long way, hopefully on the computer and not your partner!
Sheila's presentation at the Burlington Senior Centre went really well and it was very interesting. It brought back many memories for me of the time that I was in China. It was nice to look at the photos and listen to the stories about the places I had also been to. There were the occasional people in the Audience that had to make a point about how they went to China and how they found the place to be, which I think annoyed Sheila a little bit as it was her presentation and she just wanted to talk about her experiences
The presentation lasted for an hour and Richard made sure that she didn't go over time, by standing right behind her and letting her know. You see Richard used to be a Colonel in the military and he served for 30 years and he even fought in Vietnam. I would say for someone like him, punctuality is almost important as if not more than lunch, which is what the others were thinking of!
After the presentation, we went to have lunch in a beautiful town of La Conner. The name of the Restaurant remains in my head quite distinctively, not because I care, but because it didn't have exactly what it said on the name. It was called Prime Rib and Seafood Rest., and it had no Ribs! The restaurant was located at the foothills of a bridge called Rainbow Bridge. The name reminded me of the story of Black sheep. I don't know if you know, but remember the children nursery rhyme, Ba Ba Black Sheep, have you any wool? Well apparently, as I was told, they have changed that now and the children are supposed to sing, Rainbow sheep, instead of the Black Sheep, as it was considered to be racist
I had grilled Salmon on a bed of Dill and Mayo, which was just exquisite. The taste of Dill reminded me a lot of back home. Richard and Sheila talked a little bit more about their 10 year adventures on a sailing boat in Turkey and around. They have even written a book on that, which I am proud to say, I have a signed copy of that from them and the book is not longer in print! Sadly! We did a little bit of shopping as I was predominantly looking for some art work from the Native Americans, and I managed to find some at Swinomish Indian Craft store. Once the shopping was over we went for a drive to the Deception Pass Bridge and the park and the beach. The name of the bridge is basically an acknowledgment of Captain Cook getting lost again!

01 Lunch at La Conner
. Well not only I was still half sleep after the shower, I looked like a half sleep red eyed monster, as I managed to get all of the shampoo in my eye. I finally got myself in to the living room, where I found Richard fighting a battle on the phone with someone and Sheila was still missing after she had disappeared before my shower. 02 Rainbow Bridge
. To me it felt like the others were trying to make a point that they had been there and it was time to say: " Shut up, this is my presentation, if you want to talk, get yourself one of these projectors, and while you are at it, do you want this one?"The presentation lasted for an hour and Richard made sure that she didn't go over time, by standing right behind her and letting her know. You see Richard used to be a Colonel in the military and he served for 30 years and he even fought in Vietnam. . Of course now, the children are going to learn about the effects of LSD and existence of colours that don't normally exist!I had grilled Salmon on a bed of Dill and Mayo, which was just exquisite.
