The day before today, being the Saturday 7th July, Dore and Pat invited a family friend of theirs to the house. It was fun meeting the family and the Juniors of the family as they just occupied the pool and had their own little party at the pool. We had a fantastic dinner which was prepared by Dore, followed by chocolate dessert which was totally and utterly heavenly and it satisfied all of my chocolate cravings, the only problem was that it was so good that come tomorrow morning, I wanted more!

The next day, being today Sunday 8th July, me and the kids and 2 friend of Bryce, Mike and Duffy, went to Disneyland in LA. The rides were absolutely incredible, there is no doubt about that and the fire work after wards at the end of the show put the one on the 4th July to shame! But the most amazing ride for me here was the one called: It's a small world after all! I have attached the video of this ride among my photos on this entry. It was not scary, nor was it an adrenalin rush to get on this ride, it was a ride around the world in not even 15 minutes, and what got me all excited was that I didn't have to go away for 13 months around the world, I could have just come here to LA and got on this ride and seen the world in under a quarter of an hour! For not even 100 dollars! You can imagine how ready I was to kick myself for that. And that is not the best part of it, the best part was that from the moment you got on that boat (oh yes you traveled on a boat) the surrounding looked like it was straight out of Alice in Wonderland story. And I can bet you, that whoever made this ride in I have no idea how many days or months, must have been on some sort of recreational drug as everything looked colorful and somehow it matched the descriptions from a Pharmacology textbook! It was just magical!

Once all the rides were over and we had enough of going around the rides, some more than once, we watched the firework display at the end of the night and left the park at around about 12 midnight, otherwise I would have turned into a pumpkin! We got home about 2 in the morning after dropping Duffy off in Long Beach which is near Irvine here in LA. Duffy is originally from OC and I just discovered that OC is actually filmed here in LA! DOH! As the ride back home was quite late, it is needless to say that everyone in the car went to sleep as soon as they sat in the car. Pilar was even snoring and Mike was just moving side to side to find a more comfortable spot to rest his head. I had to give him a towel to use as a pillow as he was annoying me by moving so much. Bryce was driving and he did a magnificent job, considering he is only 19. The Junior Smyths were both exhausted at the end of the day and had blisters from the walking and rides. We did go on the last water ride 3 times, so we could get the picture right. This was a great ride with a fantastic drop at the end in the water pool. I hope to be able to attach a copy of that photo here soon. But I can tell you this much that we got soaked wet and it was a rather cold night.

So what else has happened to me in the last couple of nights, well in between getting up around 10 in the morning, having a swim in the pool, stroking the cat and eating Crispy Creme, and other amazing food can't say I have been doing much else. I might be going to a Persian Restaurant tomorrow evening since it is Dore's birthday and she really wants to try something different! There is a huge Iranian population out here in LA, so that would be pretty easy to find somewhere nice. I am really enjoying being here in LA, predominantly because I get to see LA and the mad rush and at the end of the day I get to escape all that insanity and find refuge in the most peaceful spot here in Torrance where the Smyth family lives. I am very lucky. And the craziest thing that we tell people we meet is the story as to how I met the Smyths in the first place and everyone is pleasantly shocked by the story.

Tomorrow morning I am off to the Dentist for a thorough check and then I can eat all the birthday cakes! :) And I went to see Harry Potter this afternoon! But I won't say anything about that.

Good night! It is past 12 midnight and I feel like a pumpkin!
