Sitatunga
Entry 61 of 252 | show all | print this entry |
Today we had an early morning game drive that Steve and I decided not to go. To be honest the mornings here have been extremely cold, and as lazy as it may sound, the idea of getting out of the tent in the early hours of the freezing cold morning, where the sky is still dark, is not very appealing this morning. Later on we drove to a villege called Maun, to the campsite called Sitatunga. There was a croc farm nearby, which some of the people from the group went to!
We played some volleyball and relaxed at the pool. Elliot, the guy who was waiting for his A-Level exam results, finally got them. He has indeed made it through to Oxford to study Law. His parents and himself were very happy. So far this tour has been great. Everynight the tour guides sit with us and tell us stories about Africa and the animals and share their experiences with us. Something which sadly was missing from the one before. Tonight we had dinner on the house and we celebrated Elliot's exam results. We had a great cake, a proper chocolate cake with cream! It was fantastic. The night ended well with a few African shooters called springbok. It is a combination of Amarula which I adore and a green spirit which the name of it right now skips my mind!
