Caught the 5:30am bus from Poprad to make sure that we could get some good connections to Krakow, as read it can take 4hrs to get there.
What a load of rubbish!  The buses at the border, Lysa Polana on the Slovakia side (which is basically a car park and a few closed buildings which look pretty empty), are not remotely synchronised and the earliest bus to Zakopane is at 8.55am (it was 7am when we got dropped off).  That in itself wouldn't be so bad even though it is pouring with rain but there is just nothing there.  Nothing at all and not a single person about.  Some empty buildings in a closed compound on the Polish side (no clue as to when it might be open, if at all) but if it wasn't for the fact that the road signs now look different and we can look back across the bridge we walked over to see a big Slovakia sign on that side of the river, we wouldn't even know we'd crossed the border.  Not happy bunnies as to top it off we had read that there are ATM's on either side of the border so we thought we would pull out a bundle of Zlotty then but you guessed it, there weren't, and not even a settlement of any description on the Polish side.  Here is the clincher and it really is, I, being G, is seriously needing a poo!!

Anyhow, as luck would have it S managed to flag down a private minibus to Zakopane who would accept Euros to cover the cost of the journey and G resolved his situation.  ATM at Zakopane bus station, phew, and on to another bus to Krakow pretty much straight away that took 1hr40mins, not 4hrs...........
