Being on a tour full of English chavs has made me pine for the days when I'd get on a tour bus and it'd be full of Germans.  Almost.  This tour is how I imagine being imprisoned in the Big Brother house feels like.  Except that sadly, I can't be voted out.

Having said that, the sights have been good.  We stopped at eighty mile beach (which is an eighty mile long beach, for the thick people reading this).  The national park has some lovely walks, (crocodile free) swims, and gorges to explore - which is fantastic.  Kakadu is better though.

The tour guide is awful.  She keeps "whooping", cackling and trying to force me to have fun.  This includes such stunts as asking the bus to dance to YMCA when I'm trying to sleep, and asking me to cross dress as a witch for Haloween.  I have refused both.  She managed to leave the two Japanese on our tour at one of the gorges.  She may lose her job over this.  That would not be a bad thing.

I've also struggled to find the peace and quiet that I've needed.  Every time we camp, I try to find a quiet spot to get away from everyone else.  But someone always finds me and purs out their (dull) life story.  One dancer from Rotherham explained to me that she didn't need to worry about a budget because she had made so much money from her divorce.  Her ex husband's money apparently came from importing mobile phones, shifting them round a load of different companies that he owned, exporting them again at no profit, and reclaiming the VAT.  This sounds suspociously like a carousel fraud to me.  Adam, I'll try and get some more details for you.

We get to Exmouth next, which represents the half way point on this 10 day tour.  I had been considering asking to leave the tour at this point.  But I've paid good money for this tour.  And if I've paid good money to not enjoy myself, I'm damn well going to carry on not enjoying myself.
