I had my leaving drinks on Saturday at the Landor Theatre - a good pub near where I was living in Stockwell, London. It gave me a good chance to say bye to my friends before I left. I sat there from 2.30 to midnight, so that anyone could drop in at any time. This was a mistake, because it meant that I started drinking from the start. By 8 I was incoherent, and by 11 I had to lie my head on the table while people talked around me. Oops!
I spent the next 3 days meeting up with people to apologise for the offensive and drunken texts/voicemails that I had sent. Never mind - they won't see me for 6 months and time's a great healer. At least I didn't tell the double black eye joke that Jim wanted me to tell.
I also took my camera with me. I thought I'd better get some photos of my friends in case I forgot what they looked like. However, when I checked the camera the next morning the only photo was one of me (below) with Tom Brown in the background (more on him at a later date). I'll just have to remember who's who when I get back.
Thanks to Sophie for the champagne; thanks to Liam for over-celebrating my departure with it; thanks to Tom and Sarah for the wet wipes and the earplugs; and thanks to Adam and Dan for the fantastic meal to send me off on Wednesday night. I'll update the blog with some actual travels soon.
