Some wally left a full battery and charger at his cousin's house and a near-dead one in the camera so we have one instead of three days' worth of pictures to show you all (cue sigh of relief from all our diligent and long-suffering readers). Anyway, Denali National Park is a true wilderness park and so much so that after about 15 miles on the single park road, you are only allowed around by foot or dog sled unless you are on the green tour bus: It takes 9 hours just to get from one end to the other and back.

We turned up for the dog sled show on the third day and got plenty of time to pet the huskies before being shown how they pull a sled so fast they surprise the hell out of the Park Ranger giving the demonstration. They were pretty excited dogs: we would put it up there with Rhu at the beach.

We had an interesting stay in the local hostel, one night of it we spent in a 'walled tent'. It was really a frame with a white tarpaulin over it - perhaps not the best choice of colour in the land where the sun doesn't set in summer.

We were not only one of the lucky 30% of people who get to see Mt McKinley/Denali when they visit but were also fortunate enough to see bears, carribou, golden eagles in abundance and the odd moose. Some of which Rich managed to get pictures of before the battery died...
