We chucked our bags in our room and set off for Tonle Sap lake on a river boat that was a little fragile and a little frankenstein in the same instance - crumbling woodwork with a dirty great tractor style engine plonked on the back and a piece of rope attached to the wheel to steer it. Luckily, our boatman Jan was on hand to steer us to safety and the interesting floating village at Chong Khneas.


We popped out to the night markets when we got back, tucking into Khmer food and sampling the local beers - although we passed by the street vendors, selling chicken feet, pigs skin, trotters, chitlins, fish bladders, roasted pig tongues and a whole lot of other stuff even Rich couldn't identify.
