Yala National Park was on our hit list for the big cats. Finally we have had some luck: we were getting a bit tense and the light was fading towards the end of the safari, having so far drawn a blank in possibly the best place in the world to spot leopards (sound familiar so far?) when on our way back, we spotted not one but two of these amazing beasts within 5 minutes. They really are amazing too as you'll see from the pictures.

Other highlights of the day's safari include:
2 crocodiles dragging the head of a buffalo around a pool, another croc running towards them to get in on the action, a two day-old elephant with it's family at the watering hole, seeing a tree full of fruit bats before we even arrived at the park and a land monitor digging for insects in the sand.
