The next day I spent most of the day lazing about by the lake and reading a book
. Then in the eveningheaded of the Buddha again and met up with the Canadians and spent a merry evening wondering around the bars. Had an amazing cocktail that was so nice and cheap but lethal. Malibu, Kahlua, Rum, Milk and creme de cacao! So yummy!
After getting up feeling a little worse for wear I then spent the entire day on the chicken buses over to Coban. For those of you who dont know, they are called chicken buses not only because you are rammed in to within an inch of your life, but also because people will literally travel on them with chickens and other random wildlife. I didnt have any chickens but there was a man with a baby goat for a while! Needless to say they are not great with a hangover!
After I eventually arrived in Coban, in the pouring rain, ( it is rainy season here) I found a hostel, the dorm was literally a barn that was leaking, and bumped into Rhedan and Nissa who I did my dive course with.
After getting the boat over from San Marcos at a rediculous time in the morning, I found a little place to stay for 15 Quetzals a night, which is a pound! Then went and treated myself to a bit breakfast overlooking the lake. Then after ages of aimless wondering and looking around I ended up a cool bar called Buddha bar. Spent the afternnon hanging out there watching random films. Met a group that where travelling around together. Danny and Aiden where English and had met up with the 3 Canadian guys. The Canadian guys, Matt; Steve and Bundy are doing a road trip all the way from Canada down to Buenos Aires! Couldnt believe it. They also played guitar and made up the funniest songs, kind of Tenacious D type thing! So after the bar spent a good few hours laughing my head of at them playing in their hostel, and then had some dinner and back to the Buddha bar.
