After a very long day on the bus I arrived in Guetemala City and stopped over for the night, didnt wanna get the chicken busses in the middle of the night!  Then in the morning got up and headed over to Antigua.  Really nice little colonial town.  When I got there I went and checked into a hostel called Black Cat, which absoloutely everyone had told me to stay at.
Then spent the afternoon with an Aussie guy called Nick and an American girl called Asha.  We wondered around for a bit and then went with the tourist police escort up to the hill that overlooks the town.  They have to have escorts now because it used to be really dangerous for people to go up there on their own!
Then in the evening after a few drinks in the hostel we all went of to a little restaurant/ bar were the guy from Buena Vista Social club was playing.  Was really good and cool to get to see one of them before they all die!
Next day I spent the morning getting jobs done, and in the afternoon I went and climbed up Volcano Pacaya!  It is a fully live volcano.  Was really cool to do but also quite scary.  You literally get about a metre away from flowing lava.  And the rocks you have to alk on are really hot.  People had walking stick that were setting on fire if they put them in the cracks.  And getting down was a nightmare!  But was so cool to see.  And when you get down you could actually see the eruptions from the top.
After that I was nackered so when we got back to the hostel I had some food and went to bed.  Another early start in the morning!
