Well we left Peru and headed over the border into Ecuador to Guayaquil.  We basically stopped over here for a few days to get things done, like book flights etc, and have a nice hotel room with a tv for a few nights.  We then headed up the coast to a cool little surfer town called Montanita.  When we arrived we found a hostel and then just wandered around town and went for a few drinks.  Every bar has happy hour all night on fruit cocktails, they are great!  We actaully had an early night the first night after Gemma discovered that somewhere between the last hotle and here she had managed to lose her camera again.
In the morning we got up to find that the hostel had absolutely no water, so we moved.
After that the next few days were basically spent chilling on the beach, watching the surfers.  It was actually cloudy alot of the time but as we were on the equator it was still boiling.  The sun came out on one of the days and even though I was under a parasole I still got burnt!
Spent quite alot of time relaxing in the hammocks reading aswell.
The Wednesday was my last day in Montanita and also the last day me and Gemma were going to be travelling together.  She decided she couldnt afford to go the Galapagos, it costs a fortune, so is heading stright up to Central America instead.  So in honour of our last night together we went out for yummy dinner dinner. We then went to watch a fairly rubbish live band were we met a group of guys from England and Guernsey.  After the band we all headed to the only 'club' in town, and proceded to dance about all night like the crazy drunken fools we were!
The next morning I got up feeling incredibly rough, said goodbye to Gemma and caught the bus back to Guayaquil. Where I went straight to bed before a very early start to catch my flight to the Galapagos! Yipee! Very excited!
