We finally arrived at the hostel which was amazing, massive pool etc, for only 2.50 a night. So much cheaper than brazil, so cant wait to get backover there
So that day we went to see the falls. They are totally amazing. The photos cant even begin to portray it. They are absolutely gigantic. Took the whole day to walk around them to see all the different points. And there were butterflies everywhere! Have never seen so many in my life. We went on a boat ride which took us right into the falls so got totally soaking, but was very welcome as it was so hot.
After that we went right up to the top, called Gargantua Diavolo, Devils Throat. Here the spray from the falls was so intense that we got soaked again.
I cant really say anything else because words cant really describe it.
Although we were absolutely shattered from all the walking, we decided toget out into town in the evening. It is a really nice place, and you really feel like you are in south America. We went with Johnny and Neive and 2 american girls called Arial and Michelle. We first went to a rubbish bar full of people from the hostel, so we left and went to a few local bars
Woke upthe next day convinced I had got upin time for the 10 breakfast, still dont have a watch, to realise it was actually 1.30. But the weather was lovely as it had been raining lightly all morning so was really nice and cool. Until then they had just had torrential downpours each evening which didnt cool anything down at all. Just put all the towns electrics out. The maglite came in handy. So spent the day wondering in to town to get some food and stuff, then sat and watched films.
Next morning got up early to make the trek backacross the border with the intention of getting a bus to Curtiba, to got to an Island called Ihla Do Mel. We booked the ticket, but then decided that we didnt have enough time to go to there and to Florianapolis before our flight on 5th March. So we changed our tickets to get an overnight bus straight to Florianapolis. Which did mean we had to hang around the bus station for 8 hours.
But we have now arrived in Florianapolis which is great, like an aussie backpackers kind of place. So looking forward to a few days of sun sea and surfing, if I can still stand on the board that is.
Will update you all on the next adventures soon.
