Wow, never had a Christmas morning like this – bright sunshine, 22 degrees Celsius, strawberries & champagne, smoked salmon bagels & croissants for breakfast. Awesome. After a polite wake up at 7:30am by the kids, they proceeded to see what Santa had brought for them. The rest of the morning was spent building various Lego sets and playing with the dogs outside (or napping – Sally), accompanied by chocolate, cheese platter, crackers & dip.

Ruth cooked us a fantastic turkey lunch and whilst the cook napped everyone else spent the afternoon discussing politics, religion and science. Not really; we all watched Despicable Me. We were finally ready for desert by tea time so tucked into a gorgeous kiwi and strawberry pavlova (not really the weather for Christmas pud – though Ruth had got one in just for Alan, which he had later), followed by a Thornton's chocolate mint selection and a chocolate orange, both imported for the occasion! A few games on Laura’s new Simon game and Isabelle’s Words with friends and ready for bed.
