Bbrrr! It's a bit parky here don't you know? I'm not normally woosie about the cold but given it's about 25degrees C colder here I am feeling it!
Arrived back in England at 5.30pm last Tuesday only 11 hours later than scheduled so that was OK?!! Spent quite some time being messed about at Jo'burg airport b4 finally being taken to some accomm at about 11.30 pm only to be woken at 3.50am to be carted back to the airport. Anyway I got back safe and sound so where's the harm?
On Wednesday I awoke full of beans and leapt around seeing some close friends -lovely to see them and have a hug! In the evening I went to choir and it was fantastic to hear the progress they've made whilst I've been away. After a wonderful 2 hours there I went off at 10pm to catch an hour's jiving -brill! Although I thought I might have 2 left feet after 3 months I didn't and really threw my self into it with gay abandon (whoever she is?!)
Thursday dawned and I was turning over in my mind some thoughts I'd been having in the last couple of weeks at Campfire, namely "how was I going to settle back into "normal life" and more to the point did I want to?" I rapidly reached the conclusion that my travellling urge had only been whetted with my South African experience and I got back in touch with Real Gap to check out a couple of other projects that had caught my eye when I had originally booked in July. Now you may or may not know that I've had a desire for some time to get up close and personal with Orang Utans.. Monday 26.11 morning at the dam with B n Adele

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but.. I checked out with RG about the availability of the project in Borneo and no - damn! - no places until October 08 but... hang on a minute - there had been a cancellation just that afternoon so there was a place starting 5th Jan -YEE HA! It was obviously meant to be!
So I'm in England for 5 weeks and then flying off on Jan 4th -exciting or wot?! My first project is in Malaysia and Borneo focusing on Orang Utans (4 weeks) then I have a fortnight to get myself from Kuala Lumpar to Bangkok (thought some indepenedent travel might be fun altho scary) and depending how much time I have Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia are all close. In and around Bangkok for 4 weeks mixing in some cultural stuff, two weeks working as a mahout (someone who works with ellies) and a week loafing b4 I then fly to NZ to explore it at my leisure for between 6-8 weeks - fantastic or wot? I am sooo excited!
I'm really looking forward to spending Christmas with my family and particularly keen to see Matthew my 6 yr old tennis superstar nephew who will no doubt have grown since I last saw him. It's wonderful too to see my fabulous friends and catch up - the jaws on one or two of them dropped open somewhat at my announcement that I was taking off agian so soon!
To those of you I won't see b4 I leap off again , I wish you a wonderful Christmas and hope that 2008 is a happy, healthy year for us all.
Love n hugs Sally

Off again, huh!
My lightly tanned skin has just gone a shade of green - with envy. Ho hum! You'll have a ball, you lucky devil, of that I'm sure. Exciting stuff for sure.

All that way.....
You're going all that way and not popping into Oz for a visit. You are welcome you know. Drop me a line if you decide you want to see beautiful Perth.
