Hello there! Here I am reporting in whilst a bush frog sits on the home and end keys as I type(I kid you not!)
Good journey here, altho compete organised chaos going thru passport check at Jo burg. The smaller plan De Havilland we took to Hoedspruit did 3 lurches as we approached landing which nearly caused the reappearance of a recently noshed snack!
There are 5 of us new starters today Jonathon, Linda ,Helen, Jo and myself. 4girls and a chap.
5 giraffes welcolmed us as we drove in to the camp at about 3pm today;beautiful creatures -just 43 photos of them then so far!
Have a rondavel (trasditional hut) to myself, someone must've warned them that I would need a lot of space and it wouldn't be fair to ask anyone to share with me!
Had a late afternoon bush walk and saw giraffe again, a zebra in the distance and a warthog running off as well as a red billed hornbill -am in heaven or wot?
We have a lecture tomorrow at 7am! about the dangerous 9 so shall have more to tell you in a few days.(the frog is still sitting on the keyboard, and there are ciadas chirruping in the background, one of the 3 dogs is barking and all is right with the world - I think I'll stop here and get an early night. You have to keep your hut door shut at all times because the monkeys are mischevious and will nick your stuff.
Will sort some photos for my next entry but in the meantime, TTFN,signing off from the middle of nowhere in South Africa!

Frog on keyboard
Got my mossie net up , had a shower and have eaten the most fantasic meal - kudu (a type of antelope) mince -yum and a fab apple sponge pudd -apparenlty it's obligatory to put weight on whilst you're here -oh joy!Had a late afternoon bush walk and saw giraffe again, a zebra in the distance and a warthog running off as well as a red billed hornbill -am in heaven or wot?

Hello Sally, so glad to hear you arrived safely, sounds like you're having a great time already. Dont suppose you are feeling even a tad homesick for the cold, dull and windy summer you've left us with. Tube on strike so havent gone back to work today as planned.......
Anyway watch out for those lions, and get some more giraffe photos!

Hey!!!!
Oh no, what is this new fangled stuff? TRAVEL POD!!!!I've had to join up! It is a fine September day in Swindon. Wistful sunlight. Just had to go back to the 4 letter word w**k. You can be smug. Little Wedding group of singers last night were fab. It reminded me how much I love the small group singing.
Kit has just been informed that he has got to the finals of the National Yamaha Guitar award. He's got to go to London tomorrow night to do it. If he wins it will beb lots of publicity, a tour and a free guitar.
Sweet dreams under your mosquito net.
Much love,
Linda x
