Ipanema in Rio = bronzed bods, boobs and buns in itsy bitsy bikinis and was our first destination.... exactly as you imagine rio to be. Our first four days in brazil were spent lounging around on the beach, eating and drinking cocktails and beer- it´s a hard life!!! Ipanema was amazing- pristene beaches, ritzy shops- home of the beautiful people... and the tourists. Our stay in rio was short so we only managed to venture out of Ipanema a few times....
1)Went to christ the redeemer statue- a huge christ statue on top of a hill that looks out over all of rio- you can see all of rio from here-an amazing view. 2)what trip to rio could be complete without venturing to copocabana.... or so we thought- after the pristene beaches of ipanema copocabana was a bit of a dissapointment as it was pretty scungey. From copocabana we caught the first of what will be many crazy buses into lapa to see some stained glass windows in a huge conic cathedral and visit a huge staircase that had been tiled in colored tiles by a local artist.
3) On our last night Kel and Elysa, along with most of the people form the hostel (unfortunately sal was sick) ventured into lapa to a samba club to dance the night away... after a few bevies we managed to get our booty shaking in a manner not completely devoid of rhythm. More thumbnails ...
