We are in Boca Raton, Florida, staying with my cousin, Paul, and family. Lovely big house with pool. On the way here we did one of those Everglades airboat rides, and saw a few alligators. The main object of the trip seemed to be speed and thrills, a bit like a jetboat. Not really my thing - I was expecting a wildlife tour. The thing made such a racket there was little wild life prepared to hang around.
Monday June 12
Heading North up the Florida East coast and currently in Cocoa Beach, just S of Cape Canaveral. Planning to visit the Kennedy Space Centre tomorrow but R's condition will need to improve firsts - he has really bad sciatica. The other problem is that the Governor of Florida has just declared a state of emergency for Hurricane Alberto. So far only heavy rain and lightning but the worst is due tomorrow. We are on an island, which may not be the best place to be.

Lucky you
You look so relaxed in the sunshine while here we are in really cold spell. Very wild weather y'day so that Canterbury/Dunedin covered in snow and parts with no electricity. Poor Auckland had a black out for 5 hours as one wire broke!! Everyone very cross. Forecast 1 degree tonight but that means tomorrow will be beautiful
