First entry in our travel diary. Don't worry, there won't be one every day along the lines of 'this is what we had for breakfast'. But in case you are interested, breakfast is included, and delivered to the room. Can of juice, pot of yoghurt and large pastry thing each. Gets you off to a good start.
Got here late after sitting for 2 hrs on the plane at Auckland airport. Left just in time to miss the floods we hear.
Anyway, Hawaii is warm and everything we wanted it to be.
Next day (28/4)- caught the bus to base of Diamond Head and walked up (see pic). An interesting experience as it is a narrow path with numerous steps and 2 tunnels,ending with a hole to climb through. A LOT of people were coming down as we went up (you are supposed to go early). Anyway, the view was good. While waiting for the bus to go to the next place we were offered a lift in a stretch limo for $5 each. It was already full but he squeezed us in. Only snag was we had to get out early so he wouldn't arrive overloaded. Had a nice swim and snorkel (after watching the compulsory video telling you how not to damage the reef).
29/4 R has hired a board and gone surfing. Big event today is the Spam festival tonight. More to come on that.

Great to get your message. wonderful system. we had 14 people for lunch and all sat outside in burning heat- well it was pretty warm! It has been semi Trop heavy rain, thunder then warm and hot and tomorrow is 1st MAy. Crusaders lost, hurricanes won, and Chelsea won the championship just in case you are missing important world news. clue- Anne didn't write this!!Love.
