We headed to one of Costa Ricaīs most popular parks - Manuel Antonio. The book makes it out to be a horrible touristic hell but we thought it was lovely. You catch a lcal bus to the park, pay your ten bucks and wonder through beautiful rainforest spying more monkeyīs, toucans, 2 sloths!!!, butterflies, and strange red crabs...for a few hours before chilling out on a spectacular white sand beach with clear blue sea and a lot of iguanas checking you out. Couldnīt get a more perfect day.

On the way back we stopped in a bar that was created out of a shot down US plane from the Contra war. Incredible that they even got it there. The owners bought it for $3000 about 10 years ago I think, they didnīt say how...where does a person pick these things up from? Anyway, it was a plane with a view.

Quepos isnīt much to speak of. Dirty little place with expensive restaurants and a 24 hour bar which the lcals fight in. On a bus at 5.30am we witnessed a hilarious local fight where the angry guy had a pathetic crumbly stick that he kept hitting his victim with. The police turned up but just ordered burgers and drove off. Thatīs justice.
