We arrived in Simpson Bay that evening and anchored in the bay. We jumped ashore and took a look around.

I happened to be strolling along a random dock, looking at the big yachts when i spyed a familiar shape. When i got closer, the shape turned into Lethantia. What were the chances? Had a quick reunion with the ol' crew & they offered me daywork...again, so of course i accepted.

Stayed on a another boat during the next few weeks while i worked on Lethantia. I think they took pity on me & found work for me to do - bit like giving a puppy some food & now it expected it all the time! Anyway, i was pretty grateful & tried to save some cash for a ticket home. At one point, they left for a trip & i was forced to find alternative employment - did hull polishing, tender cleaning & also did a 4-day charter as a deck-hand on 50m Fedship with Maria Carrie onboard.

I spent a lonely Xmas & New Years there cos i had no cash to do anything (don't feel too sorry for me, it gets better...)

I was still short on cash for my plane ticket so i was kinda stuck - customs had my passport at this stage due to some fast-talking by the skipper who's boat i came in on. I was looking for more work & contemplating staying in 1/2 container with no furniture, a shared hotplate  & a dusty mattress.

While i was deciding , i went for a final night in the crew house for the last comfy night & when all seemed lost - Craig calls me & offers me the deckie job on Lethantia. I was pretty excited, to say the least, so had last few days living it up in St Maarten
