Bula Fiji!!

It was a good day to leave New Zealand today, as the weather was overcast and rain constantly threatened to soak everything. For a wonder, and the first time in this trip, there were absolutely no problems waiting for me at the airport - no queues for the flight, immigration recognised me in my passport photo, no one threatened me with deportation. It was all very simple, and for a while I was suspicious...
The wait in the lounge, which was tedious, broke my suspicions however, no one came to march me off to some undisclosed room for any kind of interrogation, and the only mildly dangerous situation I found myself in was the mental tussle to not spend $400NZ on some Prada sunglasses. You will be pleased to know that I succeeded in this difficult struggle, as I have not seen a pair of shades that look so good on me for a while - I usually look like I have a hamster face when I put them on.
The flight was very short, between cabin interruptions by the captain and crew, we didn't even get all the way through the film, and there was glorious sunshine all the way across the Pacific - that is, until we approached Fijian shores. Literally, as we came in sight of land, rain started to fall, and the world went from shiny clen blues and whites, to dull greys and muddy rivers. Bula Fiji - apparently not the land of eternal sunshine. Beware, the brouchers lie!!
Nevermind. It should be better tomorrow....
