I had spent several hours, earlier in the week calling around to check on prices to send my box home to the UK. Unfortunately, the company I had decided on had apparently misquoted me and it would now be a hassle to get the box to them, and as their price was not much cheaper than I had been quoted at the post office I deciede that convienience outweighed cost and just took the box down there. As it transpired, the misfortune was actually fortunate, as the actual price at the Post Office came in at $80 cheaper than I had been quoted. Do not ask me how or why, I just took the good luck and was pleased with it.
My other job today was to go and buy a shirt for Fiji, but before doing this I paid a quick visit to Victoria Markets at the end of Victoria St. Quick, because in all honesty there was not a lot there to keep me interested, though I did buy a Samoan cloth painting. A turtle surrounded by a geometric design. I do not know if, strictly speaking, Samoans use pictorial designs in this type of artwork, but I liked it, so I bought it.
Finding a shirt proved to be both easy and difficult. I found the shirt that I ended up buying in the first shop that I visited, but it was not exactly what I wanted to buy so I spent the next couple of hours trawling through Queen St and Newmarket looking for something better. I did not find anything and purchased the shirt I had seen in the first shop. Still, I certainly did my 10,000 steps for the day so there is a bright side.
I am looking forward to the Fijian sun, though I can hardly believe it is time to move on.
