Gym/An Apology

I will make an apology first. The next few weeks will probably be comprised of my visits to the gym and yet more anecdotes about work - I will endeavour to fit in a visit to Rangitoto, one of the active volcanoes that you can visit and play on in Auckland, I will also visit the museum again, and I will try to get a ticket to see King Lear (Sir Ian McKellan is playing King Lear) though it is posted as sold out. They may just have one seat left though... fingers crossed, but until then I am afraid that this is another fairly mundane entry regarding work and my love/hate relationship with the gym.
I have not worked my usual shifts this week at the hostel which meant that I had a whole free day in which to go to the gym, and had to do my first real work out, which is currently based on the TA basic fitness regime, as Gav has not finished drafting gym-torture sessions for me yet. I also, rather foolishly, went on the treadmill in my dance shoes, which, whilst cushioned to assist in protecting the legs in a high paced dance session, are not suitable for running in - especially if you choose to run for 25 minutes. It was very silly of me as I know better.
Still, I did manage to run for 25 mins in my first gym session for over three months so it is not all bad, especially as I spent half the time talknig to one of the gym instructors while I ran, so I was expending more energy as I moved than if I was just running. It also helped the time to pass more quickly while I was running, which is always a good thing where running is concerned!!
All that matters in the end is that my fitness is boosted fairly quickly so that I can get on with doing the things that I like in the next travel period, and also so that I can get around the far flung corners of Fiji on foot. I actually quite like the TA planner as it is essentially three different work outs a week rather than one workout repeated four times so it helps to alleviate the boredom which is my major problem with gym fitness. I felt fine after initially finishing my session, but once again, when I got back to the hostel I realised my error and was sitting amid aches again while I waited to go into work, as my day was not yet over...
I stumbled into work and settled in for the night which proved to be a relatively quiet one, meaning that I did not have to rush up and down the bar to serve people. At the end of the night I also recieved a pleasant surprise; the guitarist, who had verbally threatened me a few weeks ago offered a totally unprompted apology, and bought me a couple of drinks as a peace offering. He then bought me a couple of drinks as a peace offering, and made a point of apologising again when he spilled them on the bar. To think that such a reaction would have avoided a confrontation in the first place. Nevermind. It's all sorted now, and it does make me feel slightly bad for calling him names a few weeks ago. Anyone can be wrong.
