The day started well enough, I even sold a Stray ticket, though again that got my feet to itching for my own adventure, especially as it was the same ticket that I have bought myself, but I will be there shortly, so it is not so bad.

The it was into the long shifts that now mark my weekends and the tired period that inevitably follows on from them, though this week I was feeling quite perky, having had two whole days off in a row, which does absolute wonders for feeling rejuvenated (all about the small things again, though it could, obviously, be much harder.)

I was, at the end of my shift however, getting a little tired and was ready to go home just as soon as my shift was over - after twenty hours of work I think that anyone would be.  I had just finished scrubbing down the first section of the bar when it happened - one of the guitarists who pays at the pub decided that he would pour himself some drinks and proceeded to spill sticky fizzy drinks all over my clean work top, after I had asked him to pour on a section I had not yet cleaned in case that happened.

I was a little fraught at this point as he had watched me clean the surface just seconds before and had pointedly ignored mewhen I had asked him (perhaps a little tightly, I was tired afterall) to move down.  I told him off for his inconsiderate actions and was immediately subjected to a ten minute verbal tirade of abuse which culminated in this obnoxious (bladdered) excuse for a human being threatening me repeatedly with my job, and issuing statements such as "you're finished here b****."

Very pleasant.  Naturally I told him to F*** off, but even so the exchange did upset me as I did not consider that I had made an unreasonable request, and I had been subjected to a vicious verbal diatribe for my pains to get cleaned up and to bed so that I could work in the morning.

It turns out that in addition to being an obnoxious git, he is also a coward, as he did not have the guts to apologise for his disgusting behaviour the next night when, wonder of wonders, I was not fired and he was proved absolutely and totally wrong.

Six weeks and counting... though it was enjoyable to shoot him venomous looks for the entire night and see him wince.  Life does have some ups.
