Just a short entry here.  It was really quite a touching day, as all of my Brisbane family came over to say goodbye before I leave tomorrow for New South Wales.  Kevin instigated it, and it was lovely.  I have been wholeheartedly welcomed here and and have felt utterly at home.  I love the city, I love the climate (in the winter at least, I'm not sure about summer humidity) but I could be happier without water restrictions.  I feel for those who have to live with it permanently.  It has been almost impossible to stick to the four minute shower timer, I am not sure how native Brisbaner's manage for the extended drought period.

I have gone from not knowing I even had any family on this side of the world, to discovering two branches both holed up in Brisbane.  I have had an eventful time and a relaxing three weeks, but now it is back to my ever onward trail.  Ten days to go before New Zealand beckons and there is still Byron Bay, the most easterly point of Australia, the Blue Mountains and Sydney to experience.  It will be a great, and hectic, finale I am sure.  Ever Onward...
