In case you haven't noticed from the map entry, Moab and Lake Tahoe are far apart. About 850 miles apart, actually. And we did the whole trip in one day. After a boring slog across Nevada (passing through Battle Mountain, which the Washington Post nicknamed the Armpit of America), we made it through Salt Lake City and down into Moab. The last 100 miles or so took us through gorgeous red cliff canyons--if only we hadn't been so tired, we might have enjoyed it more.
Now that we're settled in Moab, we plan to ask around about good places to paddle and find a spot for Mike to mountain bike. Oh, and go see the Arches at Arches National Park before any more of them fall down like one did a few weeks ago.
