We have arrived to Cusco, Peru.  This is a very nice and old city.  Most of the people here rely on tourist to make money.  There are several huge mountains surrounding the city.  We have met a few people here.  The streets are mostly all one way and everyone walks in the middle of the road until you here a horn.  Everybody loves to practice there English on us.  Mostly school kids.  Down two blocks from our apartment is the train to Machu Picchu.  Yes, we are planning to go up Machu Picchu.  We would all like to hike except Monique won't be able to make it.  It's a 33 km hike on the Inca trail.  There are also alternate routes but they are much longer.
We heard before we came to Cusco that there are many second hand markets.  For example they sell cheap knock off North Face clothes.  We have been to one market already and heard about a better one.  I was the one carrying the camera while we were there, because I really enjoy taking pictures.  We were in a very poor spot of town.  We were on a street and someone from a roof spat on me.  That was so gross.  I was looking up to see who did it bus couldn't see anyone.  We turned down a street and dad noticed the camera missing from the case and asked who had it.  Surprise, surprise nobody had it.  We ran back to the place where I got spat at and nobody was there.   We found a police officer who was near by.  We told her what happened.  She didn't understand much of what we were saying but finally figured it out.  She called more officers and they all came.  I got asked a lot of questions asked but couldn't answer.  I didn't know much because I didn't even know it was stolen until it was too late.  They escorted us to the tourist police station.  There dad filled out a police report so we might be able to get insurance money.  They said there was not much they could do.  I guess weren't really smart having it on my waist.

One of the police officers offered to take us to another market were we could buy another camera.  He really wanted to get out of the office anyway he said.  We took a taxi to another huge market.    Dad got a nicer camera then the one we had before and we got it for one hundred and fifty dollars.  It was normally a lot more but I'm not sure how much.

Today we all took Spanish lessons.  Mom had private lessons while the four of us went together.  Our teacher's name was Veronica.  She is a nurse.  Veronica goes around to schools and gives vaccinations.  She was very nice lady who really liked Monique.  This Spanish lesson was a lot better then the one I did with mom in Arequipa. I have learned a lot because of Spanish lessons.

After the lessons a guy named Pablo came with a bunch of policemen.  Pablo is the owner of the apartment.  The apartment is really a Spanish school.  Usually doctors come here for a few months to learn.  All these policemen came because last month there was a robbery.  A lot was stolen.  There were nine men in here dressed in suits.  The thief turned off the water from outside then said he was the plumber.  Everyone was asleep and she was the only one up.  The lady left to get food and left the plumber inside.  He stole all her things.  That was about a month ago.
