Changed some flights, bought more tickets, replenished some stuff....that's what Quito is good for. I spread out the few remaining things I wanted to do so I would have something to do each day - I moved up my flight by one day (the earliest possible) but still had four days to kill.
What in the world am I going to do when I make it home and stay in the same place for five days or even longer?
So, I checked back into the same hostel I was in before and was glad to see a few people still around that I knew. Unfortunately, they all left the following morning. Not only the ones I knew, but nearly everyone. I had a six bed dorm to myself for two nights - good for sleeping but shitty for meeting people. Luckily, I started chatting with Richard from London via Amsterdam and we headed out for a drink or four. It has been ages since I've met another gay traveler and it was great to sit around and talk about Madonna, martinis and men. What started out as just another night out for a drink with an insta-friend turned into something that felt like a good first date. We weren't all flirty or anything....it was just an easy conversation that went on for ages until we headed back to the hostel.
If last night was our first date I might have to accelerate things a bit tonight, my last night in Quito. I might have to jump directly to 3rd date.
Wish me luck.
I just returned from a little jaunt north to the equator. Mitad del Mundo (the Center of the World) is a park located exactly on the equator....or so the French team who sited the park 100 years ago would have you believe. The GPS-located equator is about 300m away.

:-)
GOOD LUCK!!!!!
PS: too bad the title of your previous post referred to some 'stupid' animals and not the kind of boobies I was hoping for... but I could have known, that is not really your area of interest ;-)
