La Paz: the highest capital of the world at 4200m. Its a bustling capital, built in a valley, and you can see how the city expanded over the years by looking around and seeing houses crawling up the hills...

La Paz also offers you the great opportunity to see the pollution you breathe in when walking along the city. The traffic is chaotic, with antiquated cars chugging along, spewing their exhausts in your face. Lovely.

Not much to do and see in La Paz otherwise, besides drink, and of course mountainbike down the worlds most dangerous road. This road used to claim about 400 lives a year, because it is so narrow and windy, trucks used to crash into busses, etc. Not suprisising, seeing as how the Bolivians are the craziest drivers around. mountainbiking

Their idea of warning oncoming traffic that they are overtaking in a blind corner is to honk their horn. Thats it. Slowly but surely I'm finding religion over here..

But back to the mountainbiking. The route starts at 4800m, and goes down to 1100m over a 64km stretch of, well, lets call it road. For most of the ride there is a vertical drop right next to you, so keeping your eyes on the road was key... It was a great day, with awesome scenery, great adrenaline rushes, and near accidents..

My last day in La Paz I spent relaxing, andplaying a Texas Holdem Tournamentinthehostel, where I came second to win a grand total of 150 Bolivianos...
