The next day was a pretty lazy day for me. I didn't do much during the day, just rested and worked on a few things. Later that night, State Farm had a dinner for us at the park again with some awesome cookies baked by the local agent, Doug. I had a really fun time in Pittsburgh though and it is definitely a place I would like to revisit.
PS. Did I mention I had my OWN room for the two days since Amanda's dad was visiting. Not only that, but the hotel rocked!
Pittsburgh is a pretty cool city. We stayed in a really nice part of town too, right across the street from the PNC stadium where the Pirates play. The ride in to Pittsburgh didn't seem too hard on the riders. It was only 40 miles and they had a water stop at the River's Casino to slow them down for a bit. They also had a reception at a local park near the river which I didn't get to go to because we were scrambling trying to get bags into their rooms on time. Later that night we had dinner at the Lexus Club. It was really nice club, had some cool speakers too. There were a few retired Steelers and a representative from the McGowan Institute that talked about some of the developments in the medical field to grow artificial body parts or perform limb transplants. The food was also a nice break from the typical BBQ which was an added bonus. Later that night we went Quiet Man's Pub where a bunch of the State Farm guys and some riders sang karaoke. I got dared into singing "Man I Feel Like a Woman" which I have now been told may be caught on video. It was a really fun night and it made me even more sad that this ride is ending so soon.
