I need to remember to take more pictures!

This morning I some how managed to oversleep even though I didn't need to wake up until 8. I guess I needed the extra sleep? I rushed getting ready and by the time I got downstairs, Devin had already loaded the bags on to the Queen (lifesaver). We headed over to the VFW for breakfast which I had to quickly eat to make sure that I got ahead of the riders. I took off in the Queen with all the luggage and Amber followed behind me in Jim Benson's car, the founder of World Team Sports who is with us for the next couple of days. We made it into Pekin, got to our hotel and assigned rooms. Carl and Jeremy showed up soon afterwords and we were able to unload bags pretty quickly. We then hurried back to Mineral Springs Park where the ride was ending for the day for a quick reception. We ending up doing a lot of hurrying up and waiting though because during the last couple of miles, Brian ended up taking a turn to sharp (he was using a handcycle for the day) and busted his chin open. They had to take him to the hospital and he got 17 stitches (now making his stitches total 27). During the time I took the Queen to the shop to have the starter looked at and saved our tables over at Applebees for lunch. One of the men at the park had been nice enough to look at the Queen for me to tell me what was wrong so I wouldn't get ripped off at the shop. The riders showed up soon afterwords and we had a really nice lunch. Dinner was held at Avanti's Italian Restaurant by the local State Farm agent which is again really nice for our budget. I hung out later at one of the cafes nearby with some of the riders and they convinced me to ride again tomorrow. It is another 40 mile day, tomorrow but I am going to be on a regular bike instead of the tandem. I don't know if the pain I had from the uncomfortable seats last time is going to prove to be worth it for the extra help another person gives you.
