Once we got to McCook, we dropped off the bags, made a quick stop to the post office and then we were on our way back. We met up with them at the lunch stop at the local American Legion. They had a really good lunch set out plus the chance to get into some air conditioning was amazing. I snoozed a little in the car while we waited for Chief, our film guy, to come back from his airplane ride. He was lucky enough to get a local to take him up for some aerial shots. I then hopped over to the Beast (our other shuttle van) and rode with Amber, Devin and Eric back to McCook to set up rooms. The hotel staff here is awesome and the woman at the front desk was super friendly. The local agent was also amazing and provided the riders with fresh fruit, drinks and power bars when they arrived along with some homemade pies for desert. It was much appreciated too considering that we had to eat at the KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut for dinner. Yuck!
Tomorrow is almost 80 miles to Holderege, NE with what looks like no major hills. I'm looking forward to the day after tomorrow though, because I am going to ride Brian's tandem bicycle with him for the 50 miles to Hastings. I hope I can do it!
