Visited a friend of a friend in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Caught a bus early in the morning. Changed bus at Cambrdige. This was the first time I saw England outside London. Narrow windy roads, brick and stone houses and the flat green land of the Fens reminded me of a novel I once read "Waterland".
Saw the impressive Cathedral in Ely. The stained glass was magnifiscent. They left me in awe and standing just admiring them. Well worth a visit. Serenity of the Cathedral contrasts so much from the hustle and bustle of south-east Asian temples.
