. We went out to this pub that night called the three sisters (the six tits to the locals). We met up with some of Tylers friends from work Tom and Andrew. They took us under their wing with several bottles of wine and tried to teach about hitting on women. quite funny. Met a really nice group of German girls who tried to teach me some German but wasn't working so well teaching German to a drunk american. The next day we woke up a little late but did some shopping and took a bus tour around the city. We spent a lot of time at a Garden/Park that was 70 acres. it had the UK's biggest green house which was impressive. Sunday night we saw a show call "idareya" (I dare ya). In this show they show these pranks that they were dared to do and filmed it and took pictures. It was an Irish guy and an Aussie. They were very entertaining. You can go to idareya.com and see some of the pranks. At the end we all wrote down dares and voted on the best one that they were going to do the next day. My dare, which was unfortunately voted second best and they only do the top voted one, was to wear a pink tutu and go into a scottish kilt shop and yell that real men wear tutu's not stupid girly kilts. The dare that won was to dress up like the devil and go into a church for mass or to confess. This show was one of many that come to Edinburgh every year for the fringe festival which is this huge festival with street performers and top rated shows from all over the world. We kept it low key after the show that night and talked with Tom comparing american sports to english sports. The next day ate some food and hoped on the train home. all in all great experience and the Scots are very nice people.
This was a short but sweet trip. Tyler and I jumped on the train at 7 in the morning after only 3 hours of drunk sleep. we thought 4 to 5 hour train ride we should be able to catch up on some sleep. Of course we didn't have reserved seats so we got kicked out of seats that we had sat in that were reserved. oh well finally we get situated in a car. At the next stop there were two families with a bunch of loud little kids who get on. we were about to strangle them but instead we watched a show we had loaded onto my Ipod. We arrive and the hostel was hard to find even though it was on the main street and we passed it twice. That is what you get when you are hung over and tired trying to travel. The hostel was surpisingly nice with a common room, pool table, free internet on one computer, and hot showers. We settled in and took off to see the city. The most amazing attraction was Edinburgh castle. Simple fasinating because of all the different things you could see from arms and armor to the history of its capture and use for the past millenium
