My parents and my sister came to visit me in England. It was great to see the family because I have been feeling a little homesick. First we went to Stonhenge, Salisbury and Bath. The Salisbury Cathedral was huge. Stonehenge was interesting but almost overated because there was a swarm of tourists so you couldn't really get into the spiritual state of piece that I had hoped for. My favorite of the trip was seeing the Roman Baths. The water felt like it was like a hot tub because it is rain water from almost 10,000 years ago that has been heating up deep beneath the earths surface. We took a trip to Brighton which was centered around what the Brits call a pebble beach. I beg to differ, it was more like a rocky shore because there was nothing small enough to consider a pebble. We saw a beautiful palace built by King George. The inside was amazing because it was full of priceless objects and everything was trimmed in 24 carrot gold. Tam came a few days later with Manpreet. It worked out perfect because my flatmates had just moved out so my sister could have her own bed for free where I was staying. We saw Comedy of Errors, which was funny as always, and Mary Poppins which had some amazing scenery changes and Burt walked on the ceiling which was pretty sweet. Also we saw a play called Rock and Roll which had the bad guy from a nights tale and the bad guy from X-men 2 playing two of the main characters. Although the play was well written debating communism vs. capitalism and played good music like The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd, it must not have been that good because me, my sister, my mother, and my father all fell asleep at some point during the play. We also went out for Sushi for Manpreets birthday and taught my parents how to take a "saki bomb". We were able to see the London Eye, British Museum, and Tower of London. My favorite thing we did was we went to a Beer Festival that was only one tube stop from where I live. My parents got a chance to meet some of the other California kids that are here from Cal Poly and Davis. It was a good visit too bad it had to end.
