So I have been in London for a couple of weeks now. I started my internship with Islington Enterprise Agency. All the British people we talk to are generally nice but they are convinced that all Americans (as they call us) are ignorant. While it is true that most US citizens are ignorant about the rest of the world, it angers me because i know I have a better education then many of the people who said this to me. On a side note I have been able to go to the Imperial war museum, tate art museum, British museum, and the Parliament house. Each was amazing in its own way. The Rosetta stone and the real mummies at the British museum was amazing. The holocost and trench exhibits at the imperial war museum were very extravagant. Parliament was very interesting because we were able to not only hear how the government works on the tour, but also see the elaborate rooms they take place in. I also went inside the globe theater where Shakespeare first showed his plays, and was part owner. I have been able to meet people from University of Arizona, UC Davis, Marymount in DC, and some Calpoly kids I didn't know. It gets a little crazy sometimes because I live with only 2 guys and 14 girls. The girls put up with my guyish things as long as I let them take over the bathroom and watch their girly shows and movies. Watching the world cup was crazy. People in the states just aren't as serious about sports like they are with national soccer. When Italy one the streets were packed with Italians all over chanting and celebrating. I was able to watch the games at a couple English pubs, and I watched the finals with some Italians girls that I work with. I am looking forward to doing some traveling while I am here.
