Well, we got in last night and things got interesting right off the bat. We want to ultimately get to Croatia so in order to do so, we need to go through either Albania or Macedonia. We asked around and everytime Albania came up, we would hear comments like, "Well do you have a gun or a knife," or "Are you in the army or something," or "Good luck, I hope you don't get robbed." So, after hearing all that, we decided to side with Macedonia and hope we get lucky. Yesterday was a very long day of travel, an 8 hour ferry, then a 5 hour train and then another 4 hour train. So we got into Skopje last night about midnight and as soon as we walked out of the train station we met some guy that offered us a room to stay for 15 Euros per person, which is somewhat cheap because apparently accomodations here are a little pricey while all else is mostley cheap. So after talked to this guy, he started sounding a little fishing, saying that he would drive us to our next destination that night which is about a 3 hour drive and that he was the manager of the cheap hotel, (then why would he be the one waiting outside of the train station?) But then, as we were talking to him and trying to peacefully get out of the conversation and just walk away, two goons that were obviously working for him came up and got in my face a little bit and kept saying, "what is problem," and other such things. We started feeling very umcomfortable so we left and went back through the train station and came out the other side in an effort to find another taxi. So found another guy that was willing to drive us to a cheap hotel that he knows of and while we were loading up into the taxi, the two goons came back over and were just standing 10 feet away and watching. We didnt know what the hell was going on. But it turned out to be good. We found a nice place that was relatively cheap and got a very nice good nights sleep followed by a great breakfast. Today we are going to head out to lake Ohrid, which is supposedly one of the most beautiful places in the Balkans. So, wish us luck. I love you all and am excited to see you soon. Ryan.
