Well I dont have any pictures to offer you yet because I dont have any of the USB wires that I need, but dont worry, those will be up very soon. Well my mothers arrival to Nice went well and as planned. We surprised her and like the great son that I am, we picked her up from the airport and led her back to the hotel that we had already checked into. That night we took it easy and just walked around the old city because we knew that the following day was going to be a long train ride, which it was, almost 10 hours. After dinner we walked around the beach and showed my mom some of the old naked ladies because she didnt trully believe that they sunbathed topless. But now, she believes.
Because we didnt arrive in Florence until later in the evening, we grabbed a bite of food, my first Italian meal on Italian soil and I dont think that it could have been any better. Its funny being here in Italy because the amount of money that I spend on food doesnt really matter, here I am going to spend as much as I want and not feel guilty.
On our second day we had a lot on our plate because we only had one day and to attempt to see all of Florence in one day is just rediculous, so we tried our best to stick to the highlights and just see how far we could get by the end of the day. First off, we headed to the Duomo before the lines started to get too long. We thought that we would be getting there early enough in order to aviod the lines being a little after 8, but a long line had already formed. We stood around for a couple of minutes noticing that we werent going anywere. But, over to our left was another entrance and everyonce in a while we would see people go in and not come back out so we went inside to see what it was all about. It turned out that for a measely 6 Euros, we could see almost off of the first floor of the church that everybody that was in line was waiting to see, BUT we could also get to the top of the duomo to see the intire city scape of Florence and not wait in line for either. Are you kidding me, ofcourse I'm doing that~!?

I am glad you escaped and are able to contact us again. Look forward to hearing from you broke free.
'NICE' touch picking up your mother. She was a little concerned about finding you.
You took your mom out to where the old ladies hang out? You are a special son. I bet it made her feel young again.
Have great time and I'll see you in a little over a week.
Love Ya,
d
