Montpellier

Upon arrival to Montpellier we had no accommodations for that night and it being their independence day and Montpellier having the best fireworks show in the nation, we really expected ending up sleeping on the beach. But...with our exceptionally good luck, things turned for the better. Not more than 5 minutes after getting of the train, we were riding the escalator downstairs to try and find somewhere to stay that was hopefully not to outrageously expensive, some old man behind me asked me if I was planning on staying in Montpellier that night. I told him that I was and then he asked me if I had yet to find a place to stay and I told him no. And then he told us that he would rent us our a room in his home for 15 euros a night and even allow us to use his washer and dryer.
His place is a little messy and gets unbelievably warm during the early hours of the morning but for 15 euros a night I dont think that we could have asked for more, especially considering that we thought that we might not end up with a place to sleep at all. Today we got up early, not because we wanted to but because we were forced to because of the heat, and have decided that we are just going to spend the day at the beach. We had heard from a couple of Dutch guys that the beach here is really good so we are going to go and check it out for ourselves.

Another good day and night.
You and Eric seem to moving under a lucky star when it come to accomodations and beer.
Did you try any of the wine in the Bordeaux region? Your photos are great keep them coming. I take you are captivated by the old buildings, catheredals and monumaents. I also found them facinating when I was there.
Your mom is ready to go. She has packed, re-packed, shoppe... show all
