Wow, what to say about Switzerland. It is incredible even though the weather has been rather poor until now. We showed up here the night before last and realized that it was a little bit larger than we had expected. Lucerne is located in the Alps next to a large lake and it is absolutely beautiful. Yesterday was our first full day and we didnt end up doing much during the day. We had thought about renting a bike and riding around the town but being unsure about the weather, we decided against that and instead, we just walked around the town for 4 or 5 hours. Switzerland is very expensive when it comes to food. Other than food it really isnt that bad. So to combat the expensive food, we dicided to make our own meal in the hostel kitchen. We got spaghetti noodles, onions, sauce, sausage, beef, olives, red wine, cheese, garlic, mushrooms and a baguette (for our garlic cheese bread) and made a huge meal. We both ate our weight in pasta and it looked like we hadnt even touched the food, it was amazing. After the huge meal we walked to the local monument which I must say is quite impressive. Here in Lucern is a lion that is carved into the side of a large sandstone rock face. Apparently it was created by Louis the 14 to commemorate 100 Swiss soldiers that had died in an effort to save him when he was under attack. Funny story though, when we were at the lion, there was also many tour groups coming in and out of the local park and when we were there, we had 3 different groups ask us if they could have their pictures taken with us. We were like local celebreties, it was really weird. One of the ladies in the tour group asked us if her mother could have a picture with us and she was like 85 but so happy about it. After that we went back and had a couple of beers and had the funnest night so far in all of Europe. We started drinking with a couple of people from our hostel and headed out. Its very nice here in Europe because all we have to do is head for the town center and we can go from bar to bar without much effort at all. We had a great time. At the first bar we went to I met a crazy Swiss guy named Cristoph and he was halarious. We were with a couple of girls and he kept telling me that I need to take them home with me immediately and not let them get away. He was awesome. We then went to another bar and ended up meeting some local Swiss guys and they were really cool. We ended up going to a coupl of bars with them and having a really great time. AND, I was told by one of the guys that I spoke really good German. HAHAHAHAHAAHH. Well now we are currently at the train station and are on our way to Interlaken. Interlaken is supposed to be the adventure sports capital of Europe and we are hoping to have some good times. Maybe sky diving, hang gliding, and atvs but we will see. Love you and miss you. Talk to you soon. Ryan.

You may be having too much fun. I does appear that this may be the trip of a life time.
I played in a two day tournament at McCormick Woods and Port Ludlow on Thurs and Fri. That's my fun travel - Bremerton and back. Hit the ball real well and brought home some money. We only got a little wet on Thurs. You are not missing any good weather here.

You mom is babysitting Shannon after her surgery so Riley and I are foot loose and fancy free. Your mom indicated the surgery went very well and Shannon is recovering very nicely.

We miss you but are having fun following your adventure. Keep those cards and letters coming.

Love ya and miss ya,
