The high cliffs with the ocean crashing on the bottom and the green Irish hills on top are hard to beat. Countless sheep speckle the fields and the stone fences create very nice patterns.. if you can view a wide landscape, it is like a quilt laid out.
First we stayed in Dingle (which could be my favorite area in Ireland thus far), and then we swung down to the Kerry peninsula (a la Ring of Kerry). In Dingle we all got completely wrecked at a Pub/Hardware store.. yes, on your left is the bar and your right are drills/hammers etc.. we met a few locals and the lady bartender ended up having a couple with us :)
We stayed at the Grapevine Hotel (pretty good) in Dingle but I cant remember the name of the other place (in Kenmare).
A highlight of this journey were the very old castles and forts.. there is a picture of our favorite castle on my welcome page. Only about a 3rd of it still stands and we were able to climb around on it like a playground... (I think we were allowed!)
At the end of it all, 500 km had been put on the Civic.. oh, and driving on windy, slim roads with fast oncoming traffic was.. ummm.. Exhilarating!
