Hello from Lagos!
We've spent the last two days soaking up the sun in Lagos, Portugal. This is a wonderful place. Due to all of the Australian, American, and British tourists, we actually heard and spoke English! (when you've been miming your way through a strange country this is an exciting detail) Food is cheap and delicious (we each ate a whole chicken, rice, and a liter of soda for only 8 euro each). The Beaches are gorgeous, the water isn't too too cold, and everyone we have met here has been friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it!
On our first day here, we wandered the city, getting a feel for it. For dinner, we went to Casa Rosa with a group of people from the hostel. There, we had burritos (our first Mexican food in way too long) and participated in an all-you-can-drink wine power hour. We vaguely remember conversing with our hostel manager from Ohio and dancing alongside another friendly couple we met from California. After a stumble home, we called it a night. Sometimes the nights you can't remember are the ones you'll never forget...
We started our day today with a real breakfast (not peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and not croissants!) in a little cheapo cafe founded by an American expat. It ALMOST cured our hangovers. After a long nap, we decided to hike the Gold Coast of Lagos. A narrow, dusty mountain path connects 5 beautiful beaches. All of them are set in sandy bays and nestled into a wind-carved cliff side. We stopped for a dip and some sun (and a crepe), and eventually made it all the way to a lighthouse at the end of the hike. The pictures can speak for themselves. We have loved our time in Lagos, and you might want to consider it next time you need a vacation...

Oh, you two, I'm so jealous
here I sit in Door County Library, using their internet and you are having the times of your life. I do hope that we will get some sun, or I will have to shop way too much. Haha.
I love the blog. Keep up the good work!
I love you two and miss you a lot.
